Golden State Heritage Site is located 3 miles east of Wolf Creek Inn. Now a ghost town, this once-bustling mining town included a church, general store, and school house. The entire property is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The mountain standing over Wolf Creek is named for one of the Inn's most famous guest, Jack London. Once you make the drive up the mountain, a .5 mile trail leads you to the the lookout. Be ready for some breathtaking views.
Valley of the Rogue Park has both day-use picnic areas and an overnight campground along 3 miles of shoreline on the Rogue River. Camp and play along the river made famous by novelist and avid fisherman, Zane Grey!
Picture yourself in a campsite overlooking Lost Creek Reservoir with wildlife, large conifer trees, and mountains surrounding you. Take a hike or bike ride on the 11 mile trail system through the forest with year-round streams and wildlife viewing.
Heading to or from the Oregon coast on Hwy. 199, you may want to stop for a picnic at this lovely day-use park. Located at the confluence of the east and west forks of the Illinois River, the park offers picnic tables and restrooms. There is a short walking trail near the picnic area and a 9 hole Disc Golf Course.
